Turkey, which was previously in a defensive position against the attacks of the PKK terrorist organization, has in recent years adopted the "preemptive strike" method, which aims to destroy the threat outside its borders before it infiltrates the country's borders. With this method, the Turkish Armed Forces dealt heavy blows to the terrorist organization with the operations carried out in the inner regions of Northern Iraq and Syria and established military bases, control zones and intelligence centers in the areas cleared of terrorism.
These bases and control areas, where armored vehicles, tanks and artillery are located, are permanent until certain conditions are met in the region. Türkiye deals heavy blows to terrorism by operating from these bases. It has also become a regionally important power.
When Turkey previously carried out military ground operations against terrorist attacks against its country from these regions, it was subject to international reactions. Today, with thousands of soldiers at bases in the regions, it easily carries out land operations against threats to the country's security.
